I recently discovered a new artist: Parker Millsap. At a recent GloryLit Worship Night, we did a song he wrote called “Your Water.” (You can watch him sing it here at the one minute mark)
But another song he wrote called “Singing to Me” keeps running through my heart this morning. In singing it, I am reminded of the tender, loving & patient heart of God to pursue us while we are in rebellion against Him and consumed with ourselves. He continually offers Himself to us, actively loving us, making Himself vulnerable to our rejection. His long-suffering, humility and grace is overwhelming. It provokes worship from within me.
“The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17:
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
